Thomas E. Johnson, the photographer who provided all of the pictures in the rotation, has been fascinated with cameras since he first turned the knob and watched the little red window on the back of that black box with a lens in front. His interest in nature started as soon as he could open the door, and feel the sun and the wind. Nature has a soul and his mission is to capture and share it. Tom hung up geotechnical engineering twenty years ago, strapped on cameras, lenses, and tripods, and followed his life’s passion. His present project is capturing the beauty and character of Florida’s huge Nature Coast, a nursery for the life of the Gulf of Mexico, hummocks, marshes and estuaries, and all who live there.
